“What the hell” indeed.

In case anyone wondered if there are more mythology–based WTF female armors… Yes, there are.

Note that every issue of Athena has multiple optional covers and her “armor” is not consistent throughout, hence one of the shown images has her in high heels, while the other one doesn’t seem to.

Apparently some covers show her in alternate design where the bare skin parts are are protected by black (skin-tight) armor.

Considering Athena was not only the goddess of wisdom, but one of the few Greek deities known to be (relatively, ahem) modest, I doubt she’d be flattered by this reimagining of her character.
