I particularly love that in so many fantasy worlds, the top priority of so many armorers is to work out ways to create the illusion of a more hourglass shape on the wearer.

Shoulder enhancing pauldrons and hip enhancing faulds so that the waist looks tiny – that’s how you win a war!  Nobody aims for the body mass anyway!
