There are no words

Apparently this is coming to North America in Summer (the northern hemisphere’s summer).  Will this be the next game with a controversial localisation?

I have to say, for a turn based game they seem to have spent a disproportionate amount of work on inventing fighting moves that flaunt leggy outfits and teasing upskirt shots.

Given that the game’s title is about how it’s a world ruled by dragons, and your goal being to get rid of dragons – the warriors who are going to jump around like that would get something other than short skirts… or whatever it is the rune-kinght has.

Etrian Odyssey

This is gonna come from a place of love, but still drives me crazy, but Etrian Odyssey has a real issue with being completely erratic on whether it wants to be practical or not.

On one hand you have characters like Guildmaster Marion

or classes like the Protector

And then there’s classes that just kinda… don’t

Granted, we get some manservice too

The part I find most amazing is that based off it’s promotional material, I would never have expected any manservice or whip wielding… well I’m not sure I want to know what she is, in the game. I mean look at the North America cover:

I can only imagine this leads to many awkward conversations with parents walking in when the wrong thing is on the screen.

So, this is Marvel’s Angela outfit from Marvel Future Fight.
The awfulness of her original costume (up) has been pointed out multiple times, so I was really happy when I noticed the possible upgrade – her Secret Wars uniform is much more appropriate.
At least now she has a smaller chance of freezing to death.

Seeing Angela’s infamous costume in 3D form makes me wonder whether or not the game developers could recreate how inconsistent it looks in comics. That would be hilarious!

Really nice to have the blow softened by the Secret Wars AU version of the character also brought to life.

Even the way she’s posed for those screenshots informs us how vastly different is she framed in both continuities. Elseworld for the win.

Vainglory Empowerment

Note the URL actually includes the word “empower”. Ardan looks ready for battle. Celeste? Empowered, sure.

Now, to be fair… I kind of want to believe the use of “empower” is trolling, just because of where it actually appears on the page.

But this is Vainglory we’re talking about so I think my desire to believe is probably wandering deep into Fox Mulder territory.  I also can’t help but notice the list of “what’s new” for Ardan and Celeste are… a little different somehow.

Apparently her hair being pretty was a high priority…
