Thanks Trigger!

From Space Patrol Luluco, this is the lead’s mother Lalaco.

Very maternal

Magical hiding nipples and a thong that I can’t even image how it would stay in place… I’m really baffled as to how the people who signed off on this think clothes would work.

So today while I did the rare thing of looking my twitter from mobile, the application promoted this game Dragon Breaker to me (play store link) I can’t even understand that one girls not even bikini “plate” and certainly I don’t even want to know how it attaches. Also when in curiosity I went to look at the games website. I fond many other, almost as ridiculously pathetic, tries at female armour, and every men having proper clothing/armour.

While there definitely seems to be an overlap with bikini armor and creative bankruptcy – I’m really kind of amazed that there was someone out there who went “You know what’s wrong with Warrior Princess Solange’s design? Not enough armor on her arms or legs. I bet if we make a version with bigger gauntlets and leg armor it’ll seem totally viable!”

Arne Koets shows an optimal configuration for a well-tailored suit of mail – close-fitting in the arms, somewhat looser in the body. This is admittedly a rather extreme example in terms of how precisely it is tailored to the individual wearer, but the general theme of close-fitting arms and more ease in the body is fairly consistent in most medieval European illustrations of mail.

A common problem with mail/chainmail is that there’s a real shortage of references of actually well fitting/well tailored outfits.  To a certain extent, it’s fairly realistic that regular soldiers would not have had personally tailored armor – but it’s also led depictions of everything from billowy sleeves to practically painted on in what’s (supposedly) serious attempts to depict the armor.

As you can see, the fitting isn’t really that different to many other more conventional garments.  The main thing to remember that you really can’t go much tighter than this because the mail will start to become less effective, and wearing it may actually harm you.

We’ve had a few people drop us mentions of this video from Sword of Chaos, but were never able to find it – turns out it’s unlisted but now thanks to @clreemurr we have the video and can compare it directly to the original to confirm that the outfits are so ridiculous they look more believable as porn.

You can see the “spicy” version is shorter because they edited out all the shots where it’d be blatantly obvious they’re pixelating boob armor instead of boobs.

Now I wanted to make a joke claiming that they stole this idea from from me, but given that we know they already that they stole fan art of other companies’ characters for their promotions, I’m not entirely sure it’d be a joke.

I mean is there any way this (apparently well funded) production can get any more ridiculous…

This is why we can’t have nice things.
