Gamer culture has pushed the argument about women’s roles so far to one side that most of them honestly believe the status quo of default objectification and women-as-rewards is the “neutral,” “nonpolitical” starting position.

What we’re reminded of every time someone defends a ridiculous outfit.  Doesn’t matter what excuse they bring – it’s always one that supports this notion that it’s all how it should be.

And if it doesn’t look like how it should be, there must be a special reason that people just don’t understand (frequently this reason is so special it cannot be explained, only experienced!)

Bringing this back since we’re still getting people insisting that the only way anyone could possibly see any problem with the eye gouging double standards in video games is if they don’t play/understand/have 100% achievements in the games.

It can’t possibly be that there’s some problems that have been brushed off with excuses or attempts to game criticism for literally decades… that’d mean that we live in an imperfect society!

Why is it always the woman wgo “wears the form fitting armor because she is more dexterous”

And the guy is in a huge hulkling piece of armor.

Give me woman in rediculous ornamental armor with with a hammer whos smashy bit is is bigger than her head.

And give me a lightly armored male rogue who is flexible always manages to dodge at the last moment….

Actually screw the guy. Make them both women. And they are a couple.

give me a polyamorous group of women in huge bulky armor. Polyarmorous.

Give me a whole knightly order of awesome paladins who are all girlfriends with each other and wear armor that, like real-life armor did, basically makes them into walking tanks.

OMFG LINCOLN LOOKS LIKE EDWARD CULLEN WITH A BEARD I CAN’T DEAL WITH THIS SHIT

I HAVE A DRESS MADE OUT OF THIS FABRIC AND I GOT TO BE IN A PARADE BECAUSE OF IT

OKAY I WORK IN A FABRIC STORE AND ONE TIME THIS LITTLE OLD LADY CAME UP TO ME AND SLAMMED THE INDEPENDENCE DAY ONE DOWN ON THE COUNTER AND SAID, “THIS. THIS IS WHAT OUR COUNTRY NEEDS.”

I had an older man come into the fabric store that I used to work in and dropped 3 bolts of the firefighter one on my counter and said, “I need this. I don’t know what I’m gonna do with it, but I need it.” a man behind him then yelled, “Pyjamas!” and the first man said, “My husband recommends pyjamas.”

I don’t know how, I don’t know where, but I will find this fabric.

I work at Joann’s Fabric and we carry some in stores and online. My boss says around Christmas and Halloween we get things like sexy Santa’s helpers and sexy Devils, and I’ve definitely seen firefighters.

Apparently, she’s made curtains of the firefighters for her crafts room.

Also, someone get @bikiniarmorbattledamage on this!

There’s a wider selection of the fabric here, though strangely every place that stocks it seems to think that it’s just for quilts, home decor, bags and maybe a t-shirt.  Personally I think we’re missing the true potential here.

So hear me out:

I’d note that this fabric collection also comes with many traditional female pinups, so in that perspective it’s a breath of fresh air to see how they cared to cater to people with different tastes in sexy.
