The gallery of the Spooky Lady category from our Overwatch Halloween Contest will come in two halves. Huge thank you to all the participants!

PS: We’re withholding Female Armor Bingo posts this week to properly display and promote all the contest artwork. Bingo Sunday will come back next weekend!

The complete collection of entries we had for Sexy Gentlemen category of our Overwatch Halloween Competition.  Again, a very big thank you to everyone who entered.

Artist credits are on the caption of each image, we were especially impressed with the many ways that Junkrat could be shown to have an empowered sexier side and hope Blizzard will take this message on board.

The Spooky Ladies entries will be posted later this weekend.

fuckyeahconceptart:

Hanza by J Hill

I do like this as an example of a design that is a pretty faithful alternative gender for a male character and, as part of that, a pretty good demonstration of how little modification to costume is really needed.

The only real gripes are the reduction in muscle tone and the indication that there’s bandages/strips of cloth used to hold boobs in place: That’s actually really dangerous and something we should really stop depicting as though it were a good idea.

(edit: Thank you to those who pointed out the unfortunate de-aging when compared to Hanzo’s default skin, which this is a gender flip of.  Also thank you to those who wrote in to notify of Sarashi, which is a specifically Japanese technique using special bandages – while it is not clear on this model, this technique is too often depicted with regular bandages. The heels would be a lesser gripe.)

Halloween Competition Update

There have been a few queries regarding the competition so I thought I’d address them here as well as update the main page.

Paintovers on screenshots

As we’re doing this as a competition to design cool costumes, we will accept paintovers of screencaps for the costume design ideas.

Multiple Images of the same design

You absolutely may submit multiple poses or otherwise multiple images of your design, however we will only be considering it one entry.

Spoopy Sombra

Since she’s actually been officially announced with art and a video, you may make Halloween outfits for her.

The competition remains open until 20 November 2016 and we encourage everyone who has a great idea for a badass scary heroine costume or a sexy dude design to consider entering regardless of artistic experience, training or lack there of.

Tidy up Tuesday #53

Clearing things up this week:

Since apparently there’s a lot of confusion (as in – lack of reading comprehension) in notes under the Symmetra follow up post; for the record: Blizzard are the ones saying that the feedback and the stats mean Symmetra is currently nonviable

Detailed rules for our Halloween contest, including the deadline (Nov 20), are available on this subpage

We encourage everyone, despite artistic skill, to take part in the competition. As long as artwork is finished, readable and within the contest rules, it’s totally eligible for a win! We’re intending to judge creative ideas, not skill levels of the contestants. Good luck!
