Just in time for Halloween, Sideshow Collectables presents the Hellraiser Hell Priestess

I know it’s not armor but I HAD to Bingo it.  I wasn’t sure how to call the garter/stocking leather boot-ish things that don’t actually go all the way down the leg. I also debated on the Skin tight square and the “How does it attach” (mostly due to those aforementioned stocking things)  Given it’s Hellraiser, “Sharp Ornamental edges…” was kind of a given.

It’s kind of amazing that even the 90s comic was more committed to genuine “in your face” body horror and some originality that gave Clive Barker’s Cenobites their charm… this one looks like they decided that what horror fans really want is Lady Death cosplaying as Pinhead with a tiny bit of body horror hidden away on her back.

So it doesn’t scare anyone who wants to fap to it.

Killer Instinct continues to be a mixed bag, but in Sadira’s case I really do feel that rather than projecting the idea of her using feminine sexuality for evil, she just looks like she was in a rush and forgot her pants.

Personally, especially since it’s Halloween season, I wish they’d focus on more female characters who had that kind of charisma and appeal that Hisako does.

I suddenly don’t hate Hal’s Injustice costume.

網タイツ・・・!私にはこう見えますよ。

This is indisputably a far more dynamic, exciting and empowering interpretation of Green Lantern’s costume than the menu graphics in Injustice are going with:

DC Comics, Warner Bros, Netherworld Studios… I’m just saying I think you’re sitting on a potential gold mine with DLC costumes here.

Happy 16th everyone! Today is “put your male oc in bikini armor” day

Obviously, giant pauldrons is all the protection he really needs.

Lots of heavy armor placed on shoulders is just better than covering vital organs or major blood vessels… for mobility reasons, of course!

This is the Gunslinger class image from Revelation Online. A guy in a
Guild Wars 2 Facebook group recommended this. Why, I don’t know, there
is zero resemblance to GW2 here.

…on second thought, GW2 also has centaurs, at least. And guns, I
guess? But at least when GW2 does boob armour, both sides are the same
size, and no-one in Tyria has sticks for arms. How does she hope to fire
anything with THAT stance and THOSE arms? And why is her head so small?
To match the tiny top hat? Why anything in this picture? ôO

For bonus hilarity, the German version of the site translated her
class as “Scharfschütze” -> “sharpshooter”. Someone looked at this
and thought “yep, that’s what a proper sniper looks like”.

And they were so proud of her, they used her as the header image,
too. I think? It’s a little hard to tell, to be honest, the faces look
nothing alike, the guns seem to have turned from weirdly thin shotguns
to some sort of flintlock pistol, and those ridiculous shoes are a bit
distracting.

She’s less a centaur woman than an emu woman.  Maybe this game is meant as a dramatization of the Great Emu War*?

*yes this is an actual thing

I’m not sure what part find most amazing… that they seem to have tried to spin this costume into quasi-steampunk without adding goggles and pointless cogs (how is that hat staying on her head?) or that she is, by far, not the most ridiculously clad class option:

They didn’t remember to give the “Swordmage” a sword.

New gear, happy people. People keep calling our matching gear “adorable”. Hah.

Not the most flattering photos from tonight, but it shows off our new armour well so that’s what matters. We’re both 110% exhausted – it was a night of hard fights, and we’re still adjusting to wearing so much armor! I’ve been out of the game for a few months, and Kieran is used to wearing minimal stuff, usually little more than a gambeson.

After Pennsic I decided to start designing a set of armor. I wanted to make something with unique etching, and is both beautiful and functional. What I’m wearing here is kind of an alpha version of what we might end up selling on ArmStreet.com, especially the breastplate and gambeson. Field testing is going well so far, I’m finding the breastplate is a bit restrictive around the arms compared to other breastplates I’m wearing, so we’ll see if we can work on that.

You’ll also notice I have a sword *gasp* in this photo. I didn’t put my shield in any of the photos because it’s still unfinished and needs more paint, but I’ve temporarily retired the halberd to try and gain back my shield skill. It’s pretty scary being out there in the wall, feeling so noobish. I got back into the swing of things, though. I put away my trust Calimacil Long Novice sword to try out their Rob Sharp, which is bastard length. It’s a super attractive sword with decent balance and a more realistic blade. I’m not a fan of bastard length for sword and buckler, but in the shield wall with my heater I really enjoyed the additional length. More tests to come I suppose.

You’ll also notice my other new friend, Calimacil’s Percefer. It’s a tiny, realistic cavalry hammer which fits our 14th century time period! I love it already, it’s my new favourite weapon. It’s not the most useful of offhands, but it looks excellent and is generally a beautiful piece. I’d love a full length warhammer in the same style, but hey, I’m happy.

If you’re confused about my change in fashion, we’re running with a new group: Chesterwick, the same warband we ran with at Quest. We’re looking at the possibility of recruiting soon, so if you attend Swordcraft and dig our 14th century style, stay tuned ?

Great examples of armor for men and women side by side with additional cuteness, what more could anyone ask for?

As we’ve mentioned many times before, and will mention many times more, if you’re curious how armor actually works and and why then reenactors and larpers are perhaps the best people to talk to.
