Bingo: Nowi from Fire Emblem Awakening
FEAnon submitted:

Nowi is a Manakete(Dragon in human form) from Fire Emblem Awakening. Nowi is a controversial character due to her skimpy outfit combined with her young age as a dragon as she is proportionately 14 at most, though the localization makes Nowi act more mature to downplay the controversy.

This is made much more controversial due to the player being encouraged to marry Nowi off to other units and have children which if spoofed in this webcomic. While Now is first encountered captured, it is revealed Nowi made the outfit herself and wears it of her free will.

A Male of the same race and class for comparison.
Anyone up for a bingo?
Bingo you say?

Now, of course, there’s the argument that I’m sure will be coming about it being her choice, or her being a dragon so she doesn’t need protection, yadda yadda yadda.
Ultimately though, it’s very simple: If the most creative approach someone can take to a character concept such as a dragon in human form and decide it’s a “get out of criticism free card” for a worryingly sexualized teenage girl – then it’s safe to say the fluff was never really a big concern to you.

(Half-mark on the thong because it appears she has briefs with little windows to simulate the thong look. Just think, someone had to model that… and the mini underboob windows too.)
We’ve had a few people respond to the Nier Automata post with asks and submissions about the foul mouthed, incredibly violent sidekick from the original Nier game: Kaine. (Trivia: Kaine is one of the very few canon intersex characters in video games, in one version of the game, which adds all kinds of baggage to this outfit and her depiction in general)
For those interested, this is the hero, Nier… both versions of him (It’s complicated and Kaine is dressed the same in both versions):

For those interested in how this went from being pulp fantasy to a cyberpunk war of androids in couture and VR goggles against alien robots… you can probably guess there is no simple explanation to anything.
Suffice to say though, Yoko Taro’s confession that he just likes putting sexy girls in his games was entirely unsurprising.

Black Desert Online

A Dark Knight from Black Desert Online. It’s so incredible generic and dreadful.

I do get the feeling that Black Desert Online crew does more research looking through Lady Gaga’s wardrobe than any textbook. Sadly this doesn’t make them unique in the slightest, just perhaps the most blatant. (x)

Of course, Lady Gaga is trying to get attention through some combination of shock and novelty, and is hopefully not expecting to get trapped in mortal combat at any moment.

Ai-yi-yi… found this monstrosity while exploring the Sacred 2 wiki: the High Elf’s “Frozen Gems” equipment set. Double bingo at least, maybe even a triple. Bottom two rows for sure.

I’m only surprised her buttcheeks are covered properly. Going by the rest of this design, battle thong should be a given.

While her kit certainly isn’t as bad as say, Cindy’s, it’s safe to say that Aranea Highwind’s battle gear has a lot of room for improvement – mostly due to some questionable priorities. The most baffling of which being headgear that would stab her in the throat and/or chest if she looked down in a panic.

And while it’s certainly true that they boys on the road trip are wearing some very nice, very tight fitting black leather there’s two important points I’d like to bring up:
- They’re supposed to be dressed to go out on a nice road trip which will end in a wedding and it’s the whim of fate that puts them on perilious adventure.
- Their clothes are actually clothes, this is a weird fetish outfit.
Final Fantasy, as always, continues to be a very oddly mixed bag.

Chandra Nalaar’s costume never ceases to amaze us in how unapologetically it ignores even the most basic things about how armor (or any material involved in making it) works.
Let’s once again list all the nonsense here that goes beyond the usual sexualized armor tropes:
- bared thighs which contradict armoring all the other body parts
- skin-tight chainmail that also includes mail turtleneck
- boobplate somehow placed on top of said spandex chainmail
- loincloth that conveniently never flies up to display her crotch… and doesn’t catch on fire
