Predictably, the mere mention of Space Marines in relation to sexism angered many people who rushed in to tell us how because there are Sisters of Battle (aka Battlesisters, aka Adepta Sororitas) there is no possibility of sexism in Warhammer 40K certainly no reason anyone would want a female Space Marine in anything.

So naturally I remembered that certain subset of the Sisters of Battle, the Sisters Repentia, are overdue for a bingo!  And for those worried about how armor wouldn’t match the fluff behind them, don’t worry – neither does the bondage gear.

Also, if you’re concerned that this is one isolated nitpick… don’t worry there is a vast plethora of issues that can be raised to highlight how the Sisters of Battle are not treated equally with Space Marines (and there’d still be good arguments for female space marines even if they did).

What the blithering fuck is this?

candiceirae:

@nightbringer24 just put together a post on companies that make bits that are suitable for WH40k conversions. This is an outstanding post, and I’ve bought stuff from about half of the companies listed, expressly for the intention of converting 40k stuff. Good stuff!

I started poking through the various links, ‘cause hey, shiny new almost!40k minis, what’s not to like?

My god.

So, Wargamer Exclusive offers minis of the Sisters of Battle. I love the Sororitas, and was curious what they’d have. Oh, look! They have a Sororitas with two chainswords! This’ll be badass!

As it turns out, asses are involved. Just not in the way I’d hoped.

Sororitas Battle Sister With Two Chainsaw-Swords 28MM

That’s not a Repenta. I checked. That’s being sold as a standard Sister of Battle.

I respectfully submit two observations.

1. That is not a Sister of Battle. That is Slaaneshi cultist, dressing up as a SoB, either for giggles, or in an attempt to infiltrate the ranks of the actual Sororitas.

2. She’s not wearing pants. That’s an anal hook. The Daughters of the Emperor do not wear anal hooks as part of their standard wargear and I cannot fucking believe I just typed that sentence.

So, ladies and gentlemen – what the everloving fuck is this?

Apparently someone out there has even less understanding for Sisters of Battle than Game Workshop does… That’s a new record.

Also apparently someone who hasn’t had the talk about when it is and isn’t appropriate to share your kinks.

More realistic armor concept for Sororitas by IcyYmir

Sororitas Power Armor concept V2.0 by IcyYmir

While “realistic” isn’t what any Warhammer 40 000 armor design is going for *ahem*hugepauldronsandtinyheads*ahem*, Sisters of Battle certainly could use a boobplate-less armor. And those are pretty good designs for that.

I’d also love to see Sisters Repentia redesigned to wear something more suiting for an atonement-seeking warrior nun than… whatever that is:

What is your opinion regarding the Adepta Sororitas’ (Warhammer 40k) armor? The flaws that I can see are their boob-sock-plate-torpedo-things and the general lack of a helmet. Are there any other flaws that you can point out? The ask does not allow links, or I just do not know how to properly add one, sorry. :<

Here’s why I’m not the person to ask such questions, in case you missed the note…
…BUUUUT it just happens that the very first submission to this blog was a very comprehensive article my friend wrote about Sisters of Battle, especially Sisters Repentia.

In short, Warhammer 40k is pretty ridiculous by definition, but regular Sisters have surprisingly decent armor (for the standards of such setting, that is), with the only major fault being the boobplate
With Sisters Repentia though, as much as the idea of redemption by death is interesting, there is no reason why their death-wish outfits need to be the skimpy, pants-lacking, physics-defying… uh, this:

 replied to your post:

And these aren’t even the most blatant sisters repentia outfits I’ve seen. As of regular sisters of battle, sometimes they are drawn with high heels, but on the other hand, sometimes they have helmets and not a boobplate, so this balances it out.
