@strawberryshakeus directed us to this thread which combined the usual claims that men can’t be empowered with a bizarre implied narrative that Star Sapphires (Pink Lanterns in all but name) shouldn’t have male members because they’re powered by Love (as opposed to Willpower for Green Lanterns or Rage for Red Lanterns).
Failing that, if male Star Sapphires must be allowed in the game, they shouldn’t dress provocatively as female Star Sapphires tend to.
Can’t wait for the next troll critic to drop in and tell us that double standards aren’t really a thing.
Come on, who wouldn’t want to look up and see that bold man defending their city!?

Sadly, DC seems to share the double standard sentiment…

“Mission Impossible meets Grimm Fairy Tales in this new intense spy mini-series from Zenescope!”
The cleavage flaunting catsuit (how with hood option?) is pretty much a standard in the espionage and heist genres… but it seems Zenescope has decided that not only are they going to be an exciting and unique way to market their pulp… but what people want are sexed version of the Queen’s Guard.
Of course, they’re not the first ones to come up with idea. The French cabaret club Crazy Horse has had a Queen’s Guard themed act for years, only their act is actually a homage to the discipline of those troops… not a generic pinup with a fuzzy hat and a red top.
This is supposed to be a spy story so… am I supposed to believe that’s going to a disguise that she uses? I’m pretty sure I don’t want to know.

Believe it or not, this series is actually supposed to be a slightly tongue-in-cheek fantasy series somewhat akin to Conan or Fafhrd and the Grey Mouser… only apparently if you make one of the wandering thief/warrior/mercenary protagonists a woman… this happens.

You know, they say art is supposed to stimulate your imagination, but I am pretty confident whoever signed off on this design didn’t try to imagine what it would be like to move around in that outfit.

But, but… she has ice powers! That TOTALLY justifies her (barely) wearing that… thing! She breathes through her skin… I mean, doesn’t get cold, so it’s EXPECTED she’d dress exactly like that, right?
