A friend told me she’d discovered a design even worse than Velvet’s. It’s almost impressive how terrible it is. Apparently, her name is Richenal. My apologies, I don’t know what else to write. I hope this way of submitting it is okay?
Okay… I guess this summary image was chosen perfectly…
Because I was almost willing to leave this since Richenal is supposed to be a dancer… then I saw she had combat stats and made the mistake of clicking on the wiki’s front page to get more information about the game.

So generally I don’t like to target the smaller titles that are basically independents on Comixology, just because I don’t think they get much of a say in what is and isn’t perceived as “normal” in media… but in this case I feel the need to highlight something.
If you’re going to insist on doing a comic with a boobs window (on Jean Grey as she appeared in the X-Men cartoon) with extra decorations to highlight where her nipples and mound are under the costume… at least put a suitable age rating on it.
So, these are the three classes in the RPG app game MU Origin.
One of these things are not like the other.
Half-mark for the battle thong since while I can’t see the back, based off the front and the fact they basically avoided giving her pants – I feel pretty confident that’s a thong.
Also, briefly, let’s discuss possible interpretations of the wording/image matching on this particular set of promotions shown together on the site:
You would think given they’ve shown they have at least an inkling of what Roman armor looked like – they’d at least try something vaguely Roman themed. Instead we got.
Oh, and for those who already typed up their angry comment that since Terra was often depicted as topless or even nude, this is an “improvement” – I invite you to look up how Geb was depicted and this ask yourself why is that all the Egyptian gods in Smite are depicted inhuman creatures but all the Egyptian goddesses are depicted as sexy ladies.
HiRez has zero concerns about the authenticity of it’s designs, is highly problematic in a wide variety of ways and swapping out non-sexualized nudity for ridiculous hypersexualized nonsense is certainly not an improvement.
I think the biggest problem I have with Gate – Thus The JSDF Fought There! is how inconsistent it is. Because the animators obviously know how to draw practical modern armor.
And they can draw practical fantasy armor based loosely on historical armor.
And they clearly know how to draw badass women in practical modern armor.
But when it comes time to draw a warrior woman in practical fantasy armor…
They just can’t do it!
(Granted, the Rose Knights’ armor isn’t entirely terrible, but it’s still not as protective as the male equivalent.)
Of course the character in the skimpiest, most blatantly sexualized armour is a brown lady (making her an elf doesn’t make it better). On top of that, this serves as a pretty good discussion piece for another common query we get:
“What about armour that’s impractical but not sexual?”
The question is, largely impossible to address specifically because of it’s open nature, but there important thing to understand with designing fictional anything is that everything that makes it stand out from “real” should stand out for a reason – or the audience will assign a meaning.
In this case, it kind of feels like the main reasons they assigned them were CreepyMarketing Guy and because everyone else in fantasy is doing it to so we may as well too – which suggests that a lot of potential was compromised for the sake of cheap, generic sexualization.
