Lots of people are excited because Gwendoline Christie (famous for playing Brienne of Tarth) has been cast in the role of Captain Phasma. While that is awesome, personally I’m excited that this makes non-gendered imperial armor canon.
Star Wars has been pretty hit or miss in the past and I’m not making any speculations on the rest of the upcoming releases – but it appears that this is a glorious victory.

(Thank you to the-mad-art for bringing this to our attention.)

This was part of a giant diorama in Wisconsin’s House on the Rock. Kudos for including a female knight, but… were the funnels really necessary?
It is my understanding that the House on the Rock has many… oddities.

But nowhere in their promotional materials did they mention that they the most terrifying and baffling boobplate ever designed. Ordinarily I’d wonder why the male knight is okay, and the female knight fallen.

But in this case I think the armor explains it.

Squirrel armor is finished. This is just the companion prop for my future Warrior Squirrel Girl cosplay. I’m pretty happy with it. Materials are worbla and craft foam. Hand painted by me as well.
After that last post I think we all need something that both showcases cool armor and amazing cuteness. So here you go.

Rise of Incarnates’ Newest Addition…
(Link is arguably NSFW due to “totally not nudity” sexualized design)
The link doesn’t work anymore, so here’s the character’s Wikia page

…is a legitimate nightmare design. How…I can’t formulate words to describe just how…not-good-and-definitely-not-sexy this is.

This is by far one of the worst cases of sexualized exotification of Kali (again, a major figure in a religion practiced by a billion people) with transparent disclaimers of “well it’s technology not the real Kali” and “well it’s an Indian character”.
The character herself basically an almost white passing ripoff of SiN’s Elexis Sinclair (the Bianca Beauchamp version) with a Kali “battle form” that makes SMITE’s rendition look sensitive and nuanced. Oh and she swears like a sailor because “edgy”.
The game is free to play (competitive) with the model of getting people to pay to unlock characters. According to Steam it has mixed reviews with a lot of the negative reviews focusing on the price to unlock characters and lack of people to compete with.
Basically their game isn’t’ going well so they decided to try to make it more like SMITE, Soul Calibur and SiN.
Then they’ll go home and wonder why people have many negative opinions of video games and mainstream developers.
