So King of Fighters XIV is breaking out the trailers… while it does promise over 50 characters no word yet on whether any of them will be Blue Mary.
Regardless, the theme of guys in impressive thematic suits and girls in sexy outfits (some lacking all practicality) seems to be staying with the series.

Yeah.

So… initially I thought that Lady Hellbender was the Totally Awesome Hulk… but then I noticed the green guy and the alternative cover. So despite the obvious issues of her costume, I figured I’d look into who she was and wy she was on the cover. And why was she wearing lingerie instead of armor?

Yes, she’s been around for literally two issues and we’re already being sold on the idea she’ll want to bang the Hulk. Now her costume makes sense… good job on being refreshingly honest Marvel.

A friend at @hellyeahteensuperheroes informed me that so far in the story it’s only the (new) Hulk who shows attraction towards Hellbender, not the other way round. The last image is a cover for the yet unpublished issue #4, so this will probably change… or maybe Frank Cho, the artist known for his hilarious jokes about women in comics, is just teasing.
Also, Hellbender’s design is so uninspired that apparently readers tend to confuse her with Harley Queen.
Um, Marvel… if your new character looks so generic that people think she’s a popular DC villain, you’re prooobably doing something wrong.
The only (for the lack of a better word) original thing I see in her costume are those bars on her pelvis that seem to emulate how a thong looks. Which really doesn’t speak well of what the designer’s priorities are.

So, at first glance BloodRealm was just another Facebook/Android/Steam game that was doing the ever popular rip off mythologies for names and ideas while ignoring the actual stories. (And of course there’s an obligatory Red Sonja ripoff) Until I got to Nemain (the bottom image) who is supposed to be a Gaul goddess.
Now, briefly glossing over that the Gauls made such great armor that the Roman invaders incorporated aspects such as mail into their own gear – this is perhaps the worst boobplate I have ever seen.
Not only is it supposed to be “armor” that is form fitting, it actually appears to be so flimsy and thin you can see her areola underneath it… and it has this weird sliver of underboob in the middle but only on one side.

I guess maybe they figured since everything else about this game was going to painfully generic and dull… they wanted to pioneer new ways to make terrible boob armor. If that’s the case, I think they succeeded.

On the subject of armors appropriate for the cold climate, let’s have a look at LoL’s Sejuani, pre- and post-redesign.
We do (and will continue to) have reservations about the portrayal of women in League of Legends, but it would be unfair to overlook Riot’s first big token of answering audience feedback: turning Sejuani from a bikini-armored warrior woman riding an arctic beast to a boobplate-armored warrior woman riding arctic beast.
Obviously, we do take issue with the new design, particularly its boobplate, lack of any sort of protection for the neck and a waist so small that it suggests nothing’s underneath, but the noticable bingo score reduction speaks for itself. It was an improvement, even if questionable.
And now, seeing as they introduced Illaoi, we truly hope League of Legends gets continuously better with their female characters.

Christmas is… different in TERA Online. Apparently there they hunt Santa(s) and rescue women from hypothermia after they buy “seasonal” clothing.
