This shoot of Taner Sigirtmac was supposed to be channeling Tom of Finland (google searches will almost certainly be NSFW) but personally I think it is a tragedy that this costume isn’t setting a trend for male superheroes.

Look at his majesty and his empowerment.

Think of the adventures he could have!

Here’s my empowering warrior armor for Magic Meat March! Got it done just in time! I made the whole get-up out of leather, save for the shoes and the prop dagger. I just went to town this week with the strap cutter and the rivets.

It’s got a jointed spaulder for the shoulder, held in place by an asymmetric harness, zig-zagging down to a supple pouch to hold the necessaries comfortably in place. Onto this attaches a cuisse to guard the thigh.

Then there’s some accessory pieces: A thigh piece made of three panels laced together; an arm band with shearling trim for warmth; and a corset-like bracer to protect the wrist and forearm. Oh, and there’s that mass of straps for the left arm. I’m not even sure what that’s supposed to be for.

If I’d had a bit more time I was planning on adding more fur trim to the other pieces, but since it’s spring time now I don’t think that’s necessary. Wouldn’t want to overheat, after all. That extra padding would just get in the way during a battle anyway.

Now that is some fine craftsmanship and pure real-life male empowerment

Not only that, the design is so on-point! Love how the straps zig-zag across the model’s torso, with pauldron and codpiece/thong as the pivotal leverage points.

Thank you, @armoreddragon, for joining the ranks of confident men ready to show us what real armor equality looks like!

/Whispers/ you should totally do pantsless Ryoma

OK, so I had a lot of fun with this one ?
I forgot how much I enjoy practicing anatomy and whatnot, so this was a treat!

My other edits:
Berkut | Takumi | Shigure

We featured another one of @clarissadixonsart‘s Pantless Emblem redesigns before. But Ryoma, with his loin flap, is probably my favorite one.

I wish Fire Emblem was self-aware enough to serve the same sort of costume design for male and female heroes without the need of fanmade fixes…  >_>

The empowered version really is so much better design-wise. I mean, the original had white-on-white! Who thought that was a good idea? But in the edit, his skin becomes a contrasting color, and my eyes don’t unfocus looking at him. Not to mention, getting rid of all those pesky armor bits on his torso gives us several clear points of red breaking up the large white shape that is his coat, rather than sticking so much red together around his chest. It’s just better on the eyes in every way~

Note that the hero is placing the revenge on the monster for being sexually harassed by it – the kind of creepy situation that is way too often depicted “playfully” with female characters, no matter how traumatizing it would be for a real person. Especially if they were victim-blamed as “asking for it” because of clothes they were wearing.

Does it even register to dudebros how terrifying it would be to have someone do this to them? And how duplicitous it is to on one hand claim that fictional characters “choose” skimpy clothes because female empowerment, while on the other hand suggesting that the very same clothes invite (and justify?!) harassment? Like, remember that time some douche compared a slut walk attendee to Hideo Kojima’s mute bikini waifu?

~Ozzie

What a rude demon! It’s good that they got what they deserved. Nobody should be subjected to sexual harassment, whether they’re empowered or not.
