bikiniarmorbattledamage:

A few words regarding the crucial difference between censorship and the creators consciously choosing to edit their content.

I dedicate this post to every salty dudebro who had the gall to suggest that we at BABD want tostrangle creativity”, because heavens forbid anyone was openly critical of The Thing You Like and suggested it has problems!

Important quote from the video:

Or is it only censorship when it’s people who aren’t you, and don’t think like you, getting what they want for once instead of you?

Dear dudebros, please ask yourself the above question next time before you type a single word of a reply to us.

~Ozzie

edit: “Thanks” to Tumblr’s absurdly broken video post feature, the video initially didn’t load. Fixed now.

Can you believe that this post is nearly a year old and we’re still getting brodudes screaming that providing feedback is censorship and insisting that any change they disagree with was force by “SJWs”?

Even in the face of mountains of evidence that the majority of people who make media actually want it to be enjoyed by lots of people, and thus do care about what alienates potential audiences and don’t take kindly to their “champions” engaging in this kind of nonsense.  This, by the way, has always been the case.

This is, of course, glossing over the hilarity of bloggers having the power and authority to force billion dollar businesses to make editorial changes is just a little ridiculous.  A little.

Love my character on Black Desert but omg I hate when she smiles xD
I wonder what @bikiniarmorbattledamage would think of her armour, considering she’s the sorceress and is meant to be in melee range.

This armor looks kind of familiar…. only it’s actually less practical.  Somehow.

Based off the changes, I think in another 27 years we’ll see “armor” that is just basically a copy of the costume from a certain music video also released in 1989.

I’m so glad we have people out there looking to make sure nobody encroaches on mainstream video games’ creative freedom.

More on Black Desert Online on BABD

Pocket Masters

So, remember that time we proclaimed Pokemon isn’t legible franchise to talk about on BABD?

Someone who seems totally unafraid of Nintendo’s legal team decided to change it with “Pocket Masters”, a game that totally isn’t infringing on anyone’s intellectual property.

image

@foldablehuman directed us at this shameless attempt at passing Pokemon gijinka as a base for a completely new, definitely creative and not illegal game. Behold the glory od Sandrew and Golbart (original characters, do not steal!):

Knight Online is, according to its Steam page, a groundbreaking MMO about the eternal struggle between humans and orcs. WOW, much groundbreaking indeed!

About as groundbreaking as having browser ads with a lady in ridiculous boob armor with lots of exposed parts right next to a guy in a huge, intimidating and completely covering armor. No-one must have done that before!
This game so clearly is a product of unrestrained creative freedom!

Um… I guess at least they’re consistent with their shameless terribleness?

image

Obviously, all the effort that came into creating such original game (which was in development allegedly for a decade) will be repayed with tremendous popularity, right?
