So I was watch a let’s play of FFX when I came across horror of Yunalesca. Where are here nipples?????

I’m guessing she lost them betting on a game of Blitzball.  Never game what you can’t afford to lose kids!

More seriously though that has got to be one of the most uncomfortable tops ever devised.

Left is the original French cover, right is the English localization.

We’ve talked before about how the only people who really understand localization decisions are the people who make them, but this one does make me genuinely curious if someone told them “If you have a sexy lady on the cover, you need a dude with no shirt or else they’ll say its sexist”.

I know it wasn’t they realized the outfit was ridiculous, because six months later they released this cover.

So today while I did the rare thing of looking my twitter from mobile, the application promoted this game Dragon Breaker to me (play store link) I can’t even understand that one girls not even bikini “plate” and certainly I don’t even want to know how it attaches. Also when in curiosity I went to look at the games website. I fond many other, almost as ridiculously pathetic, tries at female armour, and every men having proper clothing/armour.

While there definitely seems to be an overlap with bikini armor and creative bankruptcy – I’m really kind of amazed that there was someone out there who went “You know what’s wrong with Warrior Princess Solange’s design? Not enough armor on her arms or legs. I bet if we make a version with bigger gauntlets and leg armor it’ll seem totally viable!”

hellyeahteensuperheroes:

X-23 outfits, in order of chronological aperrance:

1) Uncanny X-Men

2)X-23: Innocence Lost

3) X-23: target X and early New X-Men

4) Late New X-Men

5) X-Force and X-23 ongoing series

6) Early Avengers Academy

7) Avengers Academy alt outfit (not pictured because of 10-pictures limit: a variation of this outfit from Avengers Arena)

8) All-New X-Men

9) All-New Wolverine

How come that among all the different X-23 costumes, most include a midriff and/or a cleavage and/or spaghetti straps? Oh yeah, because the most important thing about this Wolverine clone character is to show that she’s A GIRL, right?

Saddest part of it is, she originates from X-Men Evolution series, where she wore a fully-covering and practical costume:

Which, while being basically a standard biker outfit, looks way more memorable than a random crop top to me.

Even her “sexy” future self (shown only in the epilogue of the last episode) dresses in something that won’t slip of a boob.

Another thing I noticed is that most of the subsequent versions of the character look significantly whiter than the original. Even one in the Wolverine and the X-Men, which was the next X-Men cartoon after Evolution:

Also, again, bare belly and cleavage, because that’s what mutant clone assassins wear unless they’re dudes, apparently.
