Okay seriously Dynamite Comics. I have something very important to tell you that you probably should be aware of, but apparently haven’t been told.
“Add googles and cogs, call it Steampunk.” is a deprecating joke, not sincere design advice.
If you’re not going to bother to try to re-design the characters to look even a little bit Victorian? Maybe give her an outfit that was kind of a silly version of Victorian lady’s exercise attire?
And maybe never, ever approve an alternative cover for your first issue that looks like this (or even approach artists whose whole gallery is like this):
