So speaking of design choices with leather armor.

A few extra points:

• Yes, nipples on armor has been a thing.
• Boobs can get in the way, however the value of good deflective curve frequently lead to chest armor having plenty of room for them.
• Armorers did adapt armor to suit the client.  Richard III had severe scoliosis but still wore serviceable armor into battle, a good armorer could easily work around boobs.
• How fancy your want leather armor to get really depends on how fantastic you want to get and much artistic license you want to use.  Artistic license can make armor look cool without being actually effective, however every design decision will send a message.
