I don’t have any exact criteria of what “reasonable armor” is. That’s on purpose. There’s obviously a lot of silly and eye-rolly stuff out there but it’s important to question your dealbreakers; because we’re talking about imagination, we’re looking at things that are meant to be fun, and cathartic, fantastical and engaging. These things should be on a spectrum of appreciation.

What am I saying here? I dunno, something like, “don’t be cynical, try to like things, then when you’re discerning it’s so much richer.” Does that make sense?

You know, I don’t mind any of these. I think what really bugs me is when sexualized is trying to pass for heroically idealized. Anyway, thought you guys might find this interesting.

I always took an issue with this chart, that’s why I didn’t reblog it before.

The idea is good, but the execution fails because of inaccurate choice of images. Thus, it is not a good resource for argument about gendered disparity of warrior designs in fiction.
Let me correct it:

Unless author tried to suggest with those that every depiction of a female warrior shows more skin than necessary…
Personally, I doubt that. There are quite a few positive examples, after all.

Do you guys want me to prepare a revised version with appropriate images? If so, any suggestions for images to use?
