Warhammer Battle Bikini Brigade (and more)!

From this article

This was the first image in the rotating slides for the article about Warhammer: Total War.  It doesn’t get much better.  Later in the article we have these two Dark Elves.

Even his frickin’ FACE is covered, but for her?  Armor?  NOOOOoooooo. We get… whatever those things are on her boobs that are going to gut her like a fish if she bends over and can’t possibly stay on without glue or piercings.  I guess all her armor budget went into that hat.

OTOH, after showcasing the horrible, I wanted to showcase the one good female armor in there:

…but you have to scroll through tons of images (including more bikini armors) before you can find this one.  And I can’t tell for sure if it’s a trick of the light or if she actually has a bare middrift because reasons. [sigh]

Personally I think the greatest display of priorities in these designs is this piece of concept art which could almost be “spot the difference” game:

(And in case there is any doubt as to whether this is the artist or the studio/Games Workshop’s decision, I invite you to compare and contrast with the other works in Evgeniya Egorova’s Artstation gallery)

Yeah.

As is so often the case with Warhammer (and many other fantasy settings), there’s so many things to unpack in these: Bikini armorEvil is sexy, and of course: Nipple armor.

The worst part is that I can’t even bring myself to be surprised.

Hellraiser and Hell Priestess from Sideshow

Just in time for Halloween, Sideshow Collectables presents the Hellraiser Hell Priestess

I know it’s not armor but I HAD to Bingo it.  I wasn’t sure how to call the garter/stocking leather boot-ish things that don’t actually go all the way down the leg. I also debated on the Skin tight square and the “How does it attach” (mostly due to those aforementioned stocking things)  Given it’s Hellraiser, “Sharp Ornamental edges…” was kind of a given.

It’s kind of amazing that even the 90s comic was more committed to genuine “in your face” body horror and some originality that gave Clive Barker’s Cenobites their charm… this one looks like they decided that what horror fans really want is Lady Death cosplaying as Pinhead with a tiny bit of body horror hidden away on her back.

So it doesn’t scare anyone who wants to fap to it.

Wildstorm, Jim Lee’s old imprint, is back and new character designs are appearing and we’re seeing some intriguing redesigns.

Okay first @nebezial-asheri reincarnated Witchblade with Switch now

@warrenellis is taking the distilled essence of 90s comics (aka Wildstorm) and transform it into something I’m actually really eager to read. (article here)

What an amazing time to be alive and into comics!

Mighty Magiswords

@universe63 submitted:

So Cartoon Network has a new series called “Mighty Magiswords” about a pair of adventurers who do adventurey stuff.  This is an image of one of the two leads,Vambre, as she evolved through the years before the show got picked up.

image

Far left is her original incarnation around 1996.

Second from left is her look to about 2006.

Then in 2007, someone stole her pants (probably creepy marketing guy) and they haven’t been seen since.

…sigh…

[source]

So over the years of design refinement not only did her skin become noticeably lighter, she also acquired a stereotypical leotard that so rarely gets worn by male characters, huh?

The show even makes “you have no pants” jokes, to which Vambre responds “Stop judging my bare legs decision and accept me for who I am!”With no real satirical twist on it or anything – they just reproduce the cliche and address it’s there, as it that was inherently comedic.

Some gems from http://www.howireally.com

I particularly like the second one notes that the world is ending outside and she hasn’t even finished gluing.  Because really, a lot of the costumes we see would require a lot of carefully applied gluing, followed by very little moving, to stand a chance of staying on.
