Once again, Street Fighter V has been “censored”, presumably because someone at Capcom has been notified of what boobs actually are and realized that there is no way Juri could fight, jump around or even really breathe without inviting a wardrobe malfunction.

I mean seriously, it was actually more impractical than her Street Fighter IV default costume’s top, which was basically a handkerchief with straps.

Unsurprisingly, there are bros for whom full body latex outfits that are molded to every curve are still not sexy enough and they feel cheated that it won’t be open up the front… at least note in the default.  I mean, based off Laura’s alternative costumes it’s a good bet that Juri will get at least one costume that’ll be at least as revealing as the teaser.

So, Street Fighter 5′s beta was found to have some additional costumes in it – with no official word from Capcom on whether they’re be available or not in the game.  Since they’re not even confirmed for the official game, it’s hard to tell whether they’ll be alternative costumes, unlockable rewards or scrapped before final release.

What is clear is that whoever designed Laura’s alternative outfit did so with no regard for how her body works.

There’s also (less contraversially) a police uniform (with pants!) for Chun Li (as well as a glued on version of her black dress).

(A giftset of her in action is available here)

An alternative outfit for Rainbow Mika, and I honestly have no idea what they were hoping to accomplish here (but Zangief got one as well):

And an “Officer Cammy” outfit that looks practical in front..

But of course she forgot her pants:

Since these aren’t officially released by Capcom yet, but discovered through reverse-engineering the beta, so information is very limited.  However since the models are all polished and finished, it seems clear that at some point someone thought these were a great idea at least up until the saw the final product.

Why A Street Fighter ‘Butt Slap’ Was Removed

Why A Street Fighter ‘Butt Slap’ Was Removed

Why A Street Fighter ‘Butt Slap’ Was Removed

Why A Street Fighter ‘Butt Slap’ Was Removed

So remember the outcry that somehow a zoom in shot of Rainbow Mika (R. Mika)’s butt slap was so critical to the game that it’s remove was an act of vile censorship?  Well we now have the official word from the Street Fighter team on what led to that memorable day:

“We didn’t make any change because of external influences,” he says. “Those changes came up internally. We decided to remove that because we want the biggest possible number of people to play, and we don’t want to have something in the game that might make someone uncomfortable.

The even better news is that those who were enraged that such an amazing act of censorship could occur have pretty much re-affirmed the point.  After a month and a lot of publicity, the petition only gathered 6,300 signatures (and at least one duplicate I noticed).  Most of these guys still don’t seem to believe that the developers actually decided on this change on their own…

and they’re probably all going to buy the game anyway:

I can’t imagine why the developers may choose to try to appeal to people outside of this demographic… oh wait, I can.

So, following up on the outrage over “censoring” Skullgirls (six months after the fact) we now have the a new censorship scandal… censoring a not yet released Street Fighter V in a manner that we find truly hilarious.

As some of you may recall, some time ago we expressed some concerns with Rainbow Mika (R Mika)’s costume updates – and immediately had a horde descend to insist that it was totally legit, there is nothing sexualized about it it’s just wrestling and we’re complaining about nothing.

Now we have people rioting because it appears that her signature tag-team double butt attack animation has been altered!  Well right before beginning her mega attack, Mika does a little half-turn and smacks her butt with her hand… and now the camera doesn’t focus on her butt for that smack.

Yes, apparently these people are unsatisfied with only this much sexualization:

And they’ve decided they appropriate thing to do is not to respect the creator’s creative freedom of altering their own content – but rather to start a petition.  Oh there’s also some other minor changes (pretty much all camera angles) but the butt slap moment is the one specifically cited in the petition.

And of course, in the top comments of the petition is this gem:

@whereismywizardhat was right, the ride never ends.
