DC Supersexy Boys Part 1 – Green Arrow

For our attempt at sexifying DC male heroes I managed to find this Green Arrow concept art for Injustice: Gods Among Us, which was surprisingly good material to work of off.

For starters, he was already striking a vogue pose. And just look how easy it was to expose his male-presenting nipple with that giant armpit cutout!

I also widened that lacing in the middle of his chest… my regret is not replacing the yellow undershirt (?) with his skintone 🙁

Since this was concept piece, not a final render for the game, the artist went wild with Ollie’s thicc thighs compared to tiny knees, so I also run with it!

I shortened his tunic flaps, exposed the thigh skin entirely and used some particularly beefy reference for the musculature. Also, of course, made his codpiece much obviously bulge-shaped (while rather restrained compared to how big and detailed we usually make them).
Also changed his shoes into high heels, as per usual 😉

Hope you guys like it. I’m quite satisfied with the edits here, especially how they blend into the original’s painting style.

Revealed is definitely the correct verb to describe this video that shows exactly zero gameplay of the new DLC characters for Injustice 2 and only puts one of them in full lighting in the center of the shot… for some reason.

Cheetah’s appearance in Injustice 2. Why even put clothing on an animal hybrid? She’s covered in fur, what are the clothes for? Because they’re not for any purposes of breast support or protection from attacks… The “outfit” ends up calling more attention to various body parts by putting clothes on them, much in the same vein as Jack in Mass Effect 2. That loincloth especially calls a lot of attention to itself.

Also, does she apply lipstick as part of her grooming routine? What’s going on with her mouth?

Though I’ll give her that she looks rightfully upset.

Cheetah’s design changed a lot over time, though whether her spots were a costume or her own fur, she rarely wore clothes over them [image source]:

When she did, though, it was some basic minimalistic garb, not overdesigned “savage” costume  with way too many “exotic” accessories over boobs and butt.

So Injustice 2 has decided to let us know that gear is essential and to make a video how important gear is… if you’re a dude, if you’re a lady you just need a wide variety of tiaras.

I’m serious, they go too great lengths to show you that Batman and Superman will have numerous versions of every part of their clothing, random male characters have multiple weapons but they never seem to show off options for any female character other than headpieces.

image

The only section where they seem to want to let the female characters show off a bit is… when they assure us there will be abilities that aren’t connected to the gear.  So it’s unclear whether they think the outfits are so terrible that it’d hurt sales to show them, or they just assume players will go with the skimpiest option possible anyway.

Either way, it’s clear their priorities are kind of skewed, I guess they took this classic Simpsons moment as a guide to marketing:

So, glossing over the potential issues with referring to them as girls… can we talk about how the outfits in this are leather catsuit fetish, fishnets and leather fetishwear, “jungle” themed bikini and “sexy pot plant” Halloween costume?

Combine this with Catwoman’s line about just wanting to get Batman’s attention and it’s… well, I don’t actually believe that the guys who put this trailer together really cared about the battles that would allegedly define them.

We got a few requests for us to take a look at this… and well at least they didn’t give her buttsock pants.

By itself Supergirl’s outfit in IGN’s latest Injustice 2 video is a bit of a step back but nothing immediately disastrous.  Taken in context with some other factors such as the previous outfit shown, the choice of dummy opponents and the scene where Supergirl takes Wonder Woman for a trip past the Sun so the audience can admire Wondy’s butt… and it’s frankly disheartening.

It’s not so much the bare arms but rather the shift in priorities in the to make her costume to highlight her boobs, trying to make her bright and cheery (contrary to the setting) and use Wonder Woman to supplement the T&A content.

Creepy Marketing Guy’s fingerprints are all over this one.
