While it’s not “skimpier at higher level” I feel that this isn’t exactly the armor upgrade that any warrior would be hoping for.
She certainly deserves better as a reward for not being accidentally killed by the first set.

Mariana Blavatsky, from Return to Castle Wolfenstein, is truly a great example of how obsession with ensuring your female characters have sex appeal, and the more evil – the more sexy, quickly leads to a design trainwreck. Just look at how people describe her:
Marianna Blavatsky… scantily clad Nazi occult leader… not a nice lady
The most incredible part? The character is believed to be based off or inspired by a real life occultist (who predated the Nazi movement by about fifty to a hundred years). Helena Blavatsky, who looked like…

The similarities are so striking!

Quiet apologists have been by far the most tedious defenders of bikini armor, constantly insisting that there is some sort of great artistic genius at work behind Kojima’s design decisions. It’s always either he’s doing some sort of genius bait and switch (that’s not genius) ploy or somehow the characterization will make up for the costume or (my personal favorite) people just need to spend hundred of hours playing every MGS game to understand the twenty-four minute trailer released to the general public.
No amount of anything is ever going to make up for this, the game hasn’t even been released yet and he’s already releasing fondle dolls. Oh, and since I’ve seen lots of guy’s insisting that the Snake doll will be equally fondleable and objectified – No. No it won’t.
At this point, the kindest thing that can be said has already been said on Twitter:

This is incredibly subtle

Subtle as a quiet fart in a loud room

Subtle as a rat in a sewer

Mind blowingly creative as well

So much creativity

Original as hell

SUBTLE AND CREATIVE!!!

I am currently screaming internally

Now, from what I could gather the publishers of this make both porn and mainstream products (apparently they do all the localisations for things like Dungeons and Dragons) and looking at this… I can’t work out which it’s supposed to be.
Apparently they were so concerned with making the generic designs so excitingly generic that they hired artists from across a spectrum of products to design the characters and seem to be pitching the story as sort of fantasy adventure.
I’m so confused…
