This image was to promote a Kickstarter for a “rogues gallery” expansion to the roleplaying game Cold Steel Wardens with a tagline of “Line Up the Usual Suspects…” but could be used in a textbook to discuss the “evil is sexy” trope.

What do we notice about the young villainess?  She’s got sexy clothes and slightly darker skintone and a pink streak in her hair- that’s it.  We have no sign of her doing evil (like a bloodstain), no clues as to what makes her dangerous or why she’s a villain other than… she’s sexy.

All the potential for something evocative or creative was discarded for.. cleavage and fishnets.  This is why we can’t have nice things.
