Tidy Up Tuesday #2.5

A few quick points this week.

Some people were concerned that David Sim, of Cerebus fame, has a reputation for misogyny – yes he does and we do not support his politics.  We do however find it worth noticing that even he saw major problems with bikini armor back in the 70s.

Once again, people have rushed to assure us someone told them SMITE is okay and not appropriative.  This time it’s the localization publisher and existing fanbase in China – that you can find someone to give it the thumbs up does not mean it doesn’t have a problem.  Particularly when the someone is a group who are apparently already largely unconcerned with the issue and/or stand to make money by giving you the thumbs up.

Due to time and resource constraints, we are unfortunately unable to offer critiques for personal works or projects.  The focus of the blog has always and will always be big commercial projects that get wide exposure because those are the projects who should know better and who do make big impacts.

We also had a query about whether we’re okay with sexy lady armor if the guys are similarly outfitted.  This depends on two criteria: Are they actually equally sexualized? And why are they all dressed like this?
