I’ve been meaning to bingo this piece of concept art from World of Warcraft, since it still baffles me that there are serious people with decision making power who felt this was appropriate outside of a sexy pinup book.

That and I find it kind of amazing that in Azeroth women’s boots either come with stiletto heels or no heel whatsoever (just a gap in the boot).

Of course, people keep assuring us that Blizzard has improved a lot and surely if we look at their latest expansion we wouldn’t see anything…

Oh…

Undyne from Undertale!(AKA Awesome Character with Awesome Armor)

Undyne is an awesome character. She’s not only a hammy badass fish woman who’s strong enough to suplex boulders and stuff like that, but also is a canonical lesbian. Goes to show her armor isn’t half-bad either.

Obviously, she isn’t wearing a helmet in this image, but she does wear one before you first encounter(and, depending on how you play, escape.)

Even when she doesn’t wear armor, she isn’t at all sexualized:

Undertale is certainly a unique game that brings a lot to talk about to the table. Partly because it brings the long awaited option to try to talk to monsters (in lieu of just killing them and taking their stuff) and partly because the creators have really gone all out with the whacky creativity.

I can’t say that I find this odd trend of people trying to market semi-nostalgic indie games by using cheesecake promo pics that have nothing to do with the gameplay surprising – but I do wish that Steam would quit recommending them to me just because I like RPGs and Indie games.

Both of these titles are kind of amazing in their own way, Verlies II is the sequel to a game that was Greenlit on Steam but is no longer available (that bodes well) and Heroes of Steel has a screenshot with what may be the worst bow and most phallic bow I have ever seen.

Seriously, it kind of looks like something… but not a bow.
