hey if anyone tells you art goal is something serious remember i learned how to draw like actual western comics art style just to shove batman into high heels and titty window

Petition for DC to have Bruce go out on patrol like this after losing a bet to Jason

Oh goddess yes! I’m sure you can buy this in a sex shop in Gotham.

@bikiniarmorbattledamage

What a great empowered outfit! And it shows so much of his brooding character; the bat-shaped cleavage window is clearly to show his internal struggle to maintain the image of Batman as he’s known, versus the Batman he wants to be (as opposed to if he just had the bat symbol sewn into the fabric, which would obviously denote he embodied that Batman ideal). And the cut-out above his butt is obviously a distraction tactic if any bad guy tries to attack from behind.

Brilliant design!

Awful WW design, 90% skin; DC Comics at it again

If only the men had the same outfits as WW!

Is that a big ol’ belly window in Wonder Woman’s already amazingly skimpy costume? Yes, it is.

Are those super heavy armors on all the male characters, including Superman who’s way more invincible than Diana? Yes, they are.

Truly, the double standard is but a cherry on top of the utter ugliness that is this overdesigned figure set.

This reminds me of the old Jimquisition video in which Jim uses another ridiculous Square Enix statue of egdelord Batman as a perfect metaphor for Squeenix’s skewed priorities in game and visual design:

Star Sapphire in Justice League Doom

@avatarwill113 submitted:

Wow. So she decided “I’m going to wear this pointless half-helmet that offers no protection, but I’m going to expose most of my upper torso, in a way which is hugely impractical for most mundane tasks let alone super-villainy”. Maybe she wants to show off her lack of bellybutton?

Star Sapphire basically never gets a break from godawful costume.

What upsets me the most is that animated adaptations usually veer on the safer (and less physically impossible) side of sexualized superheroine costumes (see: Angela and Dagger), thus old DC Animated Universe Star Sapphire just wore a leotard and thigh-high boots:

The Justice League Doom one is just… ugh.

Legion of Doom, more like Legion of Skin.

Nobody in this team has a bellybutton…

Also, apparently that purple star tattoo is where she stashed her powers. Observe.

image

Am I the only one weirded out by the casual way with which he just sticks his hand into another person? ( ಠ_ಠ) Not to mention, maybe put the crystal that holds all of your powers somewhere where a person can’t just grab it so easily. Then maybe she could wear a better outfit.

Cheetah’s appearance in Injustice 2. Why even put clothing on an animal hybrid? She’s covered in fur, what are the clothes for? Because they’re not for any purposes of breast support or protection from attacks… The “outfit” ends up calling more attention to various body parts by putting clothes on them, much in the same vein as Jack in Mass Effect 2. That loincloth especially calls a lot of attention to itself.

Also, does she apply lipstick as part of her grooming routine? What’s going on with her mouth?

image

Though I’ll give her that she looks rightfully upset.

Cheetah’s design changed a lot over time, though whether her spots were a costume or her own fur, she rarely wore clothes over them [image source]:

image

When she did, though, it was some basic minimalistic garb, not overdesigned “savage” costume  with way too many “exotic” accessories over boobs and butt.

@bikiniarmorbattledamage

While it remains debatable how much Nightwing’s amazing body and empowered poses balance out how women around him are depicted, Dick Grayson undoubtedly is the closest that superhero comics have to offer for us as fanservice for readers interested in men.

The last, “I’d know that ass anywhere” image comes from his solo series that could easily be renamed "The Comic With Actual Male Objectification":

edit: Changed the Greyson comic montage to a vertical, more readable image.
