That equal opportunity fan redesign of one Saint Seiya Online armor we reblogged on Friday made us look up more double standard armors from that game… and let’s say we won’t be running out of potential Female Armor Bingo material for some time.
This thing really aimed for the stars with all the shamelessly applied bikini armor tropes. I don’t think we got so much of the bingo card cleared in a while!
Also “nice” bonus of how even when a guy on the model sheets get a pose with more personality, like this one, the lady’s pose still is some variation of “Come play, my lord!”.

Blood Elves vs. Night Elves… AND BOTH SUCK!

Found this on Facebook, and as far as I can tell it’s official art. May as well be, because knowing the history of WoW’s design of female armour, this just fits the bill. Multiple bingos as far as I understand it, simply because OH LIGHT WHY?! And of course, you’d never see a male character caught dead in this stuff, so pretty evident in a bizzare elven fetishisation.
But guuuys, Blizzard totally tries to do women better now!
Because Overwatch does some baby steps in that direction, we should definitely ignore how art like the one above (originally promoting Burning Crusade ten years ago), or this or this or this still gets officially used to promote World of Warcraft.

Amusing bug in Vindictus that happens when a character’s armor fails to load.
Yes, this is what everyone supposedly wears beneath their costumes by default.
Sad part of this game is, when approaching a view like this, especially on a lady character, it’s genuinely hard to tell whether it’s a glitch or one if their “finer” designs.

I just heard of a new upcoming video game called Battle Chasers: Nightwar which was based on a comic book of the same name. It seemed to be the type of game I would enjoy but first I needed to see if the designs of the characters were good (Bad designs can easily ruin the whole experience for me) so I checked on Gully…
“Wow! That is actually a pretty damn good design!” I said to myself.
Then I checked on Red Monika…
I reacted like anyone who actually has a good amount of brain cells.
How is that you could make one good female character design and then make a terrible female character design in the same fucking series?! HOW DID YOU SCREW THAT UP?!
So based on the promotional materials on their website, Red Monika (gee, her name reminds me of a character to whom she has a striking similarity) is a flirtatious acrobatic pirate/scoundrel type, which really makes me wonder what magical glue she uses to prevent her breasts from falling out. Her boobs also jiggle when she moves, cause that’s totally important when your view of the battlefield looks like this:
I, too, have a sexy swashbuckler character with large breasts, and they wear a sports-bra equivalent even when they decide to flirt and show some cleavage. And they don’t even do back flips in combat.
The lack of creativity here is painful in the most boring way.
But this game is based on an existing property; maybe it’s the fault of the comics that made Monika look this way.
… maybe not.

90s comics was once of those amazing periods in history that’s hard to explain to people unless they were there – I kind of hope that one day Martin Scorsese will make a movie about it.
However Battle Chasers did have a ton of interesting material and a lot of promise – by that I mean the cast who were not generic fantasy hero and generic evil sexy lady.
So, let’s take a look at what they chose for their feature video and hope that the game creators realize that and don’t think that a classically 90s comic figure and outfit is what made this comic so interesting…
Oh dear.

(Half-mark on the thong because it appears she has briefs with little windows to simulate the thong look. Just think, someone had to model that… and the mini underboob windows too.)
We’ve had a few people respond to the Nier Automata post with asks and submissions about the foul mouthed, incredibly violent sidekick from the original Nier game: Kaine. (Trivia: Kaine is one of the very few canon intersex characters in video games, in one version of the game, which adds all kinds of baggage to this outfit and her depiction in general)
For those interested, this is the hero, Nier… both versions of him (It’s complicated and Kaine is dressed the same in both versions):
For those interested in how this went from being pulp fantasy to a cyberpunk war of androids in couture and VR goggles against alien robots… you can probably guess there is no simple explanation to anything.
Suffice to say though, Yoko Taro’s confession that he just likes putting sexy girls in his games was entirely unsurprising.

Black Desert Online

A Dark Knight from Black Desert Online. It’s so incredible generic and dreadful.
I do get the feeling that Black Desert Online crew does more research looking through Lady Gaga’s wardrobe than any textbook. Sadly this doesn’t make them unique in the slightest, just perhaps the most blatant. (x)
Of course, Lady Gaga is trying to get attention through some combination of shock and novelty, and is hopefully not expecting to get trapped in mortal combat at any moment.
