What People Will Find Believable on Game of Thrones, from Kasia Babis
Tangentially related to the blog’s topics, though relevant nonetheless.
Gotta love when dudebros insist that a such totally real setting like, say, Middle Earth, Hyboria or Westeros just lacks historical accuracy whenever a powerful woman appears there.
Rare bonus points if they double down with a claim that a more “feminine armor” (read: boobplate, if not a bikini) would somehow make the women warriors in said setting more believable.
Also let’s remember that The Game of Thrones/Song of Ice and Fire depicts powerful female characters as complex and deeply flawed, just like the men. Yet somehow such realistic portrayal is still too much to handle for some audiences…
