So, HiRez (of SMITE fame) have released Paladins into open beta and well, Cassie is one of their heroes – actually one of their more hardcore looking female heroes. After all, this is their promo banner:

If you thought Lancer Artoria Pendragon was the most insulting and sexualized take on Saber’s character, then you haven’t heard of her dark (Alter) Lancer counterpart! Unholy underboob, Batman!
How does it stay in place? Where did her nipples go? Why do her breasts look detached from the torso? Obviously, the answer for all of the above is: evil is sexy.
While the usual side of breast cleavage is not shown here, I marked “boob window” because of that boob-belly window. Also “nipple additions” for that scraps of fabric which are where the nipples should be.

It’s kind of amazing that this is from Vikings, a show which has both shown us they can do convincing aesthetic and is at least fairly interested in doing the historical research.
Yet somehow, they’ve managed to not only product this thing but also put it in the same shots as fairly convincing real battlefield armor – making Gisla look like an extra from a fantasy movie production who accidentally wandered onto the wrong set.

I personally have a lot of faith in this project’s quality, since its writer and creative director is Magnolia Porter (@magnoliapearl), author of an awesome webcomic, Monster Pulse (she also did some additional designs for Undertale!). Dat Ás – the Pin-Up Calendar You didn’t Know You Needed
To balance out Destiny of Ancient Kingoms’ absolute lack of any Norse mythology elements, even though they claim to be based on it, here’s a project which does honor that culture… with male empowerment!
Seriously though, apart from Jotun, which is unironically good, this is the most knowledgeable spin on Nordic legends that deserved to be featured on BABD (even if not all of those gods are actually Æsir, I’ll let that slide for the sake of double entendre 😉
