Part of the reason there is a big overlap with games that employ bikini armor and games that buy into the myth that “sex sells” appeals primarily to people looking for cheat shortcuts to success.

As such, the market for sexy armor assets is heavily supported by producers of shovelware and asset flips: developers convince themselves that these looks are both somehow attention getting but also generic enough nobody will notice them being recycled over and over.

Ultrasexualized female armor isn’t always shovelware, but outside of products intended purely for sexual arousal it always represents the lost potential of a more substantial design.
