The hilarious front line in the tragic war against ridiculous female armor

Keeping track of what’s going across various media can be an emotional rollercoaster sometimes.
Part of me thinks that Knight Girl is a contender for @boobsdontworkthatway but I the rest of me is too busy wondering if she’s supposed to have a skin-tight cuirass or if the idea is she’s totally forgone protecting her torso in favor of showing off how trim she is.
I’m really amazed how someone managed to take an 80s cartoon and make it more tacky. That’s impressive given how much of 80s animated shows were not so subtle toy ads in disguise.
Their outfits were pretty tacky but at least they were across the board tacky… now the dudes get solid chest piece armor and for the uninitiated – despite the layout on the cover – Saber Rider is the blond dude in blue, not the lady in pink.
That’s April Eagle – and they really don’t want you to forget she has boobs and long flowing blond hair. She’s the love interest after all:
Dear Lion Forge more comics like Crystal Cadets and less… like this. Or if you must make them like this, at least try to limit them to things like re-imagining sexy people are sexy super heroes rather than sexing up stories for children.
The biggest offenders of bikini armor at the Games Developers Conference. The one on the bottom is so disproportionate it’s borderline nightmare fuel.
Also, I was considering not including Tower of Legends because it is such a blatant League ripoff if League didn’t have any bikini armor clad women, neither would this game.
And of course the most amusing ones were the ladies who were segmented out with the metal structure. They made sure to keep the cleavage showing, even if it meant offsetting it from the top half of the body!
Though given how derivative all of these designs are, I think that it’s safe to say if League of Legends didn’t exist then they just probably would have copied the designs of someone else… like Tera Online, SMITE or anything by Blizzard.
So this is the concept art for Mileena in Mortal Kombat X, they didn’t end up going with this design – they ended up with something much simpler… that shows even less understanding of how clothes, circulation and boobs work:
But then, that’s hardly surprising from a franchise where the best female outfits seem to be “cosplay” of male outfits.
